(Transcribed by TurboScribe.ai. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) Welcome to Pillow Talk and Paperbacks, the podcast where a husband and wife tackle romanticy books when dramatic chapter out of time. I'm Mary Angelica and I'm all in for an epic love story. And I'm Christian here to question every live choice these characters make. We're here for the plot twist, the chaos, and a whole lot of laughs. All after wrangling our three boys to bed and finally claiming the couch for ourselves. So get cozy, grab a book, and let me remind you why none of this makes any sense. We are going to be covering a few chapters here of fourth weighing. This is the podcast where we essentially are reading romanticy books for usually the first time, but I have read fourth wing before my husband has not. This is Mary Angelica. And this is Christpin, that's probably what she would call me if I was in one of her books. What? Well, their names are so weird. Oh my gosh. Okay, fine, this Rebecca Yarrows. And we again, I've read this book. It's a very first book in romanticy that started to read. And we are covering chapters 10 through 13. For this episode, we are trying to cover around four to five chapters per episode. But when Christian was reading these four episodes or these four chapters, he came to me with concern in his face. You want to tell me? I was completely into the book and I couldn't stop and I added one to stop. I read the four books and I was actually upset the four chapters and I was actually upset that Maria expected me to stop. If you guys recall what happened at the end of chapter 13, you'll, I think, you'll understand why. Yeah, he was looking at me with a pained expression on his face and he was like, I can't stop there. I'm like, well, you have to. We have to record the podcast and you have to react to those four episodes or four chapters. And he was not having it. Yeah, and I still don't believe that I'm going to be in love with this whole romanticy genre. Do you like the book? I like this book. I don't know about the other 20 books you have waiting for me to read. I mean, and why did you buy another one today? Oh, because you can't stop. And plus, how am I going to get to my dream library? But now there's other books we can buy that are not these dragon looking vampire men with tears in their eyes. I actually bought Quicksilver today. I know nothing about it. I've never read it, but it's on the list of books I keep getting recommended. So I'm going to read it at some point. But for now, so we're reading fourth wing. I've read it. Christian hasn't. I've also read Iron Flame, which is the second book. It's back there somewhere. Yeah, Iron Flame. And then the third book is coming out, obviously by the time this epic episode airs, actually we'll have it already come out. But it's coming out. And I am going to try so hard not to read it so that we can read it at the same time and react together as we read it. Go right ahead. And you can tell me if it's good or bad. And then I can just skip it. You're not going to be able to stop. You think that you think you couldn't stop at the end of chapter whatever it was, 13? I don't even know how you're going to feel at the end of Iron Flame. I legitimately, you know, I'm going to film that moment, actually. As long as Dane dies at the end of one of these books, I'm good. I don't have to keep reading. What if she eventually secretly gets in with Dane? She gets together with Dane. Just probably to get back and say it in for something. I don't know what yet. We'll see. But anyways, as you all know, there's a big... Everyone's so excited about Onyx Storm. We pre-ordered it so it's going to arrive. I'm going to have to put it on a locked box. We're going to throw away the key and just wait until we get to that book in the podcast. So let's get started with chapter 10. So what happens in chapter 10? Chapter 10 is essentially gauntlet practice and some interesting, like, Zaden, Bodie, Garrick moments that we're going to chat about. But chapter 10 starts with the gauntlet. And this is this obstacle course. It's on the side of a mountain. Wipe out. Right. Wipe out with death. And they do have ropes to help you along the way. But what did you think about the gauntlet as a challenge in itself? Like, you actually cannot go see the dragons if you do not pass the gauntlet. Yeah, I mean, it's good. We got the weak people, right? Get rid of them from the beginning. Anyone who thinks that they may be able to see a dragon just because they're strong necessarily, right? You've got to be agile. You've got to be fast. You've got to be smart. It's wild. It's really wild. Like, I mean, you know, I understand they have a practice, but the practice is on the real thing. So like, if you fall on the practice, you still die. Yeah. Well, like everything, right? Like, you know, if you go around a bank, if you fail robbing a bank, you go to jail, you know? What's the same thing? So, okay, so we have the gauntlet. And this is where, like I said, we're starting to get introduced to a couple other cadets. And here we're going to introduce to Arielle. Oh, Arielle. Oh, no, Orelie. Orelie. Orelie. Orelie. It doesn't matter. She's dead. She's dead. Okay, wait, but you met her and she's super excited. She was. And that's why I knew she was dying. In this book, being excited gets you nowhere. It gets you dead. Yeah. So in this book, you got to be a downer. You have to be a dick. You have to be realistic. I mean, that's very true. If you want to be able to survive. Yeah, as soon as I started talking about how, like, her parents built her some force in their backyard, I was like, Oh, here's another one. Yeah, I don't know. I didn't see that coming. I kind of thought that she was going to be the one to help Violet get through the course, maybe from like the afterlife. You know, actually, well, before she crossed over to the afterlife, she did impart some wisdom to Violet. She actually told Violet there's, hey, these are some of the obstacles that you see up there. These ones turn to the right to make sure you step really quickly through those. And this one, you know, these fall when you step on them. So she actually gave some really good insight before before she did take care of and advice before, because she died. She couldn't hold on to one of the things that were spinning or something. Yeah, exactly. She actually fell on one of the spinning ones, but that was not her fault. And we'll get there. So as we're heading into the gauntlet, we actually start to see a couple of other cadets in her in their squad, right? And squad is their group, right? That is their, their people, you're supposed to have the most loyalty to your squad. But we have some pretty jerks, pretty big jerks in this squad. So Tynan is one of them. And he's like a bully. What are your thoughts on him? Well, I think his name is very adequate. Yeah, like, somewhat than even like that, you, I wouldn't befriend them, to be honest. Very, they just sound like they're dicks, right? A hundred percent. No, if you named one of your kids after this guy, I'm sorry. I probably don't like that. Yeah, and honestly, these people that like think they can just, you know, talk shit and they can tell me. Well, he's been hanging out with Joe Barlow. So which, why is he still alive? I know, but you kind of need a bad guy. You need a true bad guy. And Jack, there's a thing we could like about Jack, I swear. Okay, so basically, he becomes friend with Barlow. He's kind of playing the bully role. And Riddick is stepping up a little bit more as like, hey, we are, you're not, you're not going to be doing that. Sawyer as well. Sawyer is the one that's repeating here, basically, is also sending out. So we're seeing a couple more people show their true colors, right? So we'll in the good side and on the bad side. Any favorite cadet so far beyond obviously Violet? Well, we have our three amigos, right? So we've got obviously Violet, Marie and Riddock. So they're pretty solid, you know, those three. Anyone else out there who stands, no, because I just feel like they're going to be killing them off anyway. So I'm not going to get attached to 21. And this Sawyer guy, he seems pretty like average to me. Like maybe I was meeting him Bond last year. Because I mean, if you're a dragon, like you probably have really high standards. And it's like my Sawyer. I mean, I felt bad for him. He was very, he's very nice. He's been still defending them. And you know, he's still showing up as a good guy so far. And he has some skills. So actually, he is the first one to go and show off the practice of the gauntlet because he's done it before. And that's so wild. You literally have already done all of this. You have to do the entire year over again, just because the dragon didn't pick you. Or at least you should have, instead of talking to much, you should have just watched the Sawyer was doing. So okay, so Dane really in this, you know, in this world right now of her doing all of this, this is one of the things that scares him the most, right? So for him, it's like this, not not everything else has happened. Because he's like, he's terrified of the whole fucking thing. Yeah, he actually doesn't want to do absolutely anything. I don't know what he expects her to do. Just like sit in her room and just chill, quit, I guess, go describe, yeah, marry him and cook him a meal. Yeah, exactly. And so she actually has a little bit of a thought where she's like, you know what, if Dane saw a time in acting the way he is, he would make him do like breakfast duty. He'd like punish him with the rules. He's like, actually zating would probably just beat the shit out of him. So she's already starting to compare them in her mind, which I think catches her off guard. Any thoughts on that? Well, it tells you who she likes the bad boy, I think, right? The guy who's not going to put up a shit. Okay, so she gets onto the gauntlet. She's trying to join her best. We see her. And I mean, really, she came in barely able to hold the backpack and she's at least managing this obstacle course, which I think we would both fail. Oh, without a doubt, like, I would probably get dizzy the first, like, when I first did the first time, I would throw up everywhere. No, but she's trying to best when she's getting up there. And once again, she's so agile, right? Yeah, she is. That's the thing that she sure places. She's sure, which is why actually she struggles at the top, right? Yeah, but sure, people are usually like very confident because they have to overcompensate. So, you're just here to like insult everyone, all the listeners. I'm not very tall myself. I'm like, five, eight on a good day. On a good day, he's like, okay. So, okay, so she's trying to invest, you get to the very top, and she cannot get past this chimney, you know, obstacle, which is supposed to, you know, showcase what it is to get, get up high, like get as high as you can on this vertical kind of thing. And then after that, there's even another obstacle. She hasn't even been able to test because she cannot get past this chimney. There should have had Santa as an instructor teaching these kids how to get up and down this chimney. So, he goes up, he goes down the chimney. How does he get out of the house? Same way. He's definitely the house on law. Up the chimney. That's how, or somebody else pulled him with a rope or something. Nobody has thought that through. Nobody. There's no way. I can see him getting down. Rebecca really had a chance here to explain how Santa goes up in the chimney. So, you know, and this is one of the moments where, you know, you could be really smart with books, you could be really great on the mat and, you know, have great battle sense. But if you can't get on the dragon, and that's what this course is supposed to mimic. Every single part of it is supposed to find a way to mimic something that you'll experience in battle. Yeah, to battle. Yeah. And she probably has clammy hands because she's nervous. That doesn't make it any easier. And there's ropes. Can you just imagine? I just can't even imagine. She's like grabbing a rope, jumping onto a rope. Like, my hands are burning, just thinking about it. I know. I know. I have people that crossfit and they do ropes and shit. So, she goes up and we have Orley, who is pretty close by. And so, she's there. She's fine. You mean bye. Bye bye. So, she climbs up and, you know, she's doing well, but then these dragons fly over top. And it's just, it's a commotion. Like, you're not expecting it. It's flying very close to her. It's like a whole roar and everything's a green dagger tail flies directly above. And Orley just cries out, you know, and she falls. She wasn't prepared, right? Like, but if there's dragons that you would think they're used to kind of hearing the dragons like an airplane. Like, if you see an airplane outside, I don't go like falling off fucking things because there's an airplane outside, right? That's a good point. Yeah. I guess it's just a proximity, right? Like, because they are getting up high and maybe that's closer to where the dragons are flying and... Like, if she gets terrified just by watching a flying, a dragon fly and dry, well, a dragon fly, she shouldn't be on a dragon in the first place. So, sorry, Orley. So sad. Yeah. So, you know, morning formation. You know who didn't think it was sad? Her parents. Her parents, my God. I think they're disappointed. I think so too. So you can decide if you want, when somebody dies, everything has to be burned to like their death god, Malick. Is they, they keep that? Yes, it is Malick because I know someone with the last name and their death god. They're not a death god. But when I saw Malick, I was like, wait, I know that name. I've seen it somewhere. And so they kind of stood out. Okay. Well, yes. Malick is their like god of death and you have to burn everything kind of like almost like in, because a gift to him or something, burn all the belongings. Yeah. Like, if I can use shit, like, you know how they put those bi things on this little mate? But with all the belongings? I don't know. And the Vikings didn't have much shit. Anyways. So they burn everything and they can burn in at the school for you along with the body or they can send it to you. They can like ship everything to the parent. And then do they love you? Do they not love you? If they love you, they'll want it back. Yeah. Right. If they don't love you, then the school can keep it. They just, they just chose to have everything burned here. So sad. Yeah. Honestly. And the dad, the dad was like so invested, he built her a course. Yeah. Well, he had really high expectations, right? So when you said, Oh, she failed, like, I wasted my whole life. And so I was really sad about that. I don't agree with it. Yeah. That's exactly what the dad was thinking. I know. I was sad about that. Okay. So basically at this point, you know, Dane is like coming down, he's like, Hey, you know, I should have been there. This is somebody obviously in his squad, because he's a squad leader. And he, again, he's like, listen, did you finish? And she's like, no, I got caught. And he's like, listen, you're going to have to finish it because it's either you do it or you die. Same shit, different day. Like what? I know he's just saying like, can I help you? Is there anything I can do to help you? No, the answer is no. She's been telling him for fucking 10 chapters now. I don't want your help. And just. Yeah. And she kind of, she apologized. She's like, I'm sorry, like, I'm staying. Right. And so anyway, that's what happens for that moment. She goes away from him. And as she's walking down this hallway, she sees Zaden, Odie, and Garrick, they're looking interesting. They're kind of all together. They're talking. And there were three dragons that flew up above. And so maybe it was their dragons. They were out doing what? Right. There has to be something more we can do. They're saying like we're doing everything we can. So these are the real good guys. These are the real good guys. What do you think they're doing? So here's what I think is happening. I'm going to give you a theory right now. Okay. Okay. Theory. I think Dane is secretly working for the general who I don't think it's a good guy. Dane. Dane is working for the general, like, as an old, old, not grand, because Dane knows that Violet has potential to like stir shit up. Okay. And the general is like, I can't have Violet, you know, messing up with my plans. Trying to get her out because. Yeah. I think he's playing the good guy card, like the overly concerned friend, the, oh, I'm looking out for you deep inside. He's actually working for Melgrina. That's quite a theory. Best friend of his, like, her whole life though. Yeah. Up and down. Someone changed that much. So let's go back to Zaden. Okay. So what are they doing? What do you think they're doing? Because all the only two lines we read are, you know, there's something where we, there has to be something more we can do, Bodie says, and then Gary says we're doing everything we can. These are the good guys. These guys right here. What are they doing then? What's so good about what are they doing? I think they were out on like night patrol. Okay. And they saw that maybe the griffins were, you know, once again, like attacking or something, and they're like, we got to do something like we got to go or something. They're trying to find a way to help, which is the opposite of what Dane is doing. Okay. All right. And so I, because Zaden knows that she's right there, that's when he basically shuts on the conversation, right? He wants to stop. And she's hiding kind of, she says in the shadows, right? And as they leave, then that's when she's like, okay, I know that, you know, I'm here. It's like, let's, let's kind of talk about this, right? And he's like, okay, you're not going to ask me like where have been? And she's like, I don't even care, right? And they have this whole kind of back and forth there for a little bit. And what do you think about this interaction? Because this is different from the other interaction they had, which was like on the mat, like bodies on each other. This is more like, I love this back and forth, by the way, between characters. Well, I got to say that this whole like, oh, I'm not confident I shouldn't be here. Vi is not attractive. It's not attractive at all. That's not who we're used to dying. But she's been like, she could have died in any of these other things that she's been doing. Like, what's, what's the difference now? Well, before she gets to that, they're kind of, I don't know if you, well, he's flirting. She's definitely flirting. He's like playing with her. Basically, she's like, you know, like, I don't know, I just don't even know, I don't trust my chances. What does she say? She's like, I need to know what my chances are here. Basically, because she's basically like, are you gonna kill me? Because why am I worrying about this freaking thing if you're gonna kill me? So let me just know what my chances are here. Like, basically survival. He's like, oh, like, your chances with me? That's like, the oddest way I've ever been trying to pick up. So he lightens the mood consistently. I think he can tell that she's just frustrated and she's beat down, you know? And so I think he's playing with her on purpose. Like, just kind of having fun in a way, kicking her while she's down. Because she's obviously not, I don't think it's kicking her. If anything, it was distracting her from the fact that she might die. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, before. And then yeah, you're right. She does say kind of like, I don't know, like, I just, I thought I was gonna get do something and get somewhere. I had some hope and Danes plan is working. He's getting to her. Maybe, you know? And he's, and he knows. So, so they didn't actually says like, oh, so what, you're just gonna go and run off to the scribe quadrant. And she does not know, did not know that he knew that, right? So how do you think she does say shadows, remember that hear everything, see everything, conceal everything. That's what it is, right? Like he's probably, I don't want to say he's been stalking her, but he, you know, with the shadows, the sense of shadows, sort of, you know, his dirty business. Yeah, just go watch a vibe. What do you think? Okay, this is the first time we hear this about his signet, though. Shadows, remember he, they hear everything, see everything, conceal everything. So his power is actually, we've just seen him like, use shadows to like, grab, you know, knives out of the trees and, like, caress her or whatever. But now we're hearing that he can hear things, he can see things. What are your thoughts on this? Because this makes him quite powerful. Yeah, it does. And it actually makes me wonder if he knows that by his mom, whatever her name is, I forget, was actually against having, like, all the parents slaughtered in front of the kids. Because he heard? Yeah. But if they're in cahoots to overthrow Melgren, they didn't end general touring you. Yes. These are some wild theories you're throwing out there. I love it. I first thought there was a three sum between men and women and a dragon. I know, I'm so glad we did not have to go there in this. Like if I if I throw those random theories everywhere, I'm going to land one of them out. Yeah, I mean, you're probably close with some of them that you shared. I just can't say anything, right? So, you know, they have this other moment where they both know that they're keeping a secret from each other. So she, we for each other. Yeah, yeah, for each other, essentially. So she, he's keeping the secret of knowing that she's kind of considering running away to describe quadrant. And she's keeping the secret of their little club, right? So they now have this thing where each of them has a secret. And it's kind of interesting. They're kind of, it's almost like what something that ties them. Yeah, yeah, they got each other's back, right? Like, and guess who doesn't have secrets between each other? Like keeping each other's secrets. That's right. So at this point, Zayden is kind of just like, okay, enough with your with your self pity over this, you know, gauntlet thing. Maybe if you stopped soaking around, you would realize you have everything you need to scale the gauntlet. What did you think he meant by that when you read it? Well, it's like up until now, she's been able to figure out a way to like either like poison her enemies or for her to wait to, you know, get through the parapet. Like she's always been very, very creative and just kind of smart and witty. She's just so like, you know, think hard enough and you'll be able to figure out a way to make it happen, you know? So he's got faith in her. He does. He really does. He like, exactly. You're gonna die and I'm gonna see you die. And what do you look for in a partner? Yeah, that's true. Belief in each other, right? So if you're having relationship struggles, read this book. And then Zaden is what you're looking for. We should go to the books and like move them all to like the relationship. The self-help relationship. Yeah, exactly. I can do that tomorrow. Okay, but then we see a really neat moment here. And this was something that you highlighted here in the book, which is why I'm going to mention it. But it's one of the things that, you know, she he's kind of like, listen, people die, right? Like it's going to happen many, many times. And the one of the things that I think is interesting is seeing how in this moment, he's kind of telling her why she's still alive. He's like, you want to know why you're still alive? It's because you are the scale I currently judge myself against every night. Because every day that he lets her live, he believes that he's a good person. That there's a part of him that is a decent person. So he's like, if you quit, fine, then I won't have any of all the temptation to kill you anyways. Then, you know, but if you don't quit, then fine, let's keep this going. So anyway, this is basically what he's been kind of toying with every single day. He's considering killing her, thinking maybe I'm a good guy, I won't. What do you guys thought from this moment? Because this is, he's actually sharing something kind of interesting and deep here with her. Yeah, I feel there's other ways to prove you're a good person, not just by not killing someone makes you a good person, right? But he has a lot of vengeance. He wants vengeance. I think that has been sort of like, like has been put on him, right? Like, I don't know if he necessarily feels like he needs vengeance. I just feel like he's expected to feel this way because of what happened. But I don't know that he, he's inside looks when he first saw her though. Those were because he wanted her and he couldn't have her immediately. He saw her love at first sight. Listen, so I I thought this was really neat because it's kind of like, okay, you know, maybe I'm a good guy, which kind of tells you he's also wanting to figure that out for himself, like if he really is one because he isn't. But he is like, he's never done anything to make you think the opposite that we've read. Yeah, sure. I'll change my mind when I see something that he's done or that he does this terrible put up until now. Listen, he can kill Dane right now and I wouldn't think he's a good guy. I would have think he's a bad guy. He could be doing me a favor. You really don't like him. Oh, he's the best friend. He's so annoying. He's so annoyingly clingy. And I don't like that. I know. I was really frustrated with it. Actually, when I was reading this book at this point, I was like, okay, this is getting a bit repetitive. Like how many more times every other chapter, it's like when it's like, oh, Dane enters the room. I like, I roll my eyes and I go, Oh, fuck, here we go. I'm gonna burn the next couple pages. So all that data leaves her with is the right way isn't the only way. Figure it out. He's like, you'll figure it out, which is, you know, trust and believe it's not like he's really giving her the answer or the key to how to climb it. But he gets her thinking, right? I'm sure like, you know, she goes back to her room and she's like, shit, how am I going to do this work? Obviously, there's a way to make it happen. What is it? Yep. So we get to chapter 11. And chapter 11 is the gauntlet, the actual day, which the cool thing here is that we're going into this. I at least went into this chapter stress. I'm like, how is she going to get to the end? She hasn't done the last obstacle at all. And she can't pass the second last one. So like, quick and most islands, because orally, they don't even make it to the real fucking gauntlet. I'm so sad for her. She, she really, she wanted this, you know, maybe she was gonna be one of the gauntlet. What's going to happen? So what were you thinking? Because obviously, you also haven't seen her finish the the gauntlet. So did you feel like you knew what was going to happen and how she was going to get to the top? Well, no, I had no idea how she was going to make happen. But I thought they were going to throw us like a like a curveball. And like, all of a sudden, she can't even get past the first obstacle, you know, and that was going to be like the big deal. But obviously, she like aced all that. And then when she pulled out her dagger, and she starts using it to make her way up that chimney, I was like, this is badass. I actually had to read it a couple times, because I didn't fully understand what was happening, what was happening, how she was doing it. I think I got it like the fifth time I read it. And I was like, Oh, shit, like that's pretty cool. So good for her, right? Like, she made it happen. And, and, you know, some people may think that she's bending the rules. What? Well, see, yeah. So, yeah, we'll get there because some people definitely think she's, you know, she's going around all the rules. But before she actually steps foot into the gauntlet day and has another moment when he's like, please change your mind. Change your mind. I think I blocked this out. I don't remember this at all. Yeah, he's like, like, change your mind. She's like, I can't, you know, you can't, you can't just like go to the scribes yourself. Like, you're not going to decide to leave all of a sudden. He's like, that's me. I am too. And he's like, please don't like, I don't want to bury you. And she's like, one of us is going to bury each other. Anyway, it's like this whole back and forth, this is the very end. He really does feel like she's going to die here, right? To him, she's dead. If she goes into this thing, she, and he doesn't, she hasn't finished it. So, the boy who cried wolf, he really thinks he's going to die. She's going to die every single day. And then one day, she's not going to believe him. And she's actually going to die. He begs, he's literally begging, begging and begging. And at the end, he's like, I don't even know if I can watch. No one looks good begging. Like, it doesn't, it's not a good look. And I like this line, you know, Dan's like, what happened? Like, what happened between parapet and now? Because, you know, she didn't want to be there. She wanted to be in the scribe question. She says me, hasn't she changed? She changed because of Zeta? I don't think she's there yet. I think she's definitely unlike a, I'm doing this. If Zeta turns out to be like an awful guy, I'm going to be heartbroken. I really am. You like him already? I like this guy. I'm cheering for him. I want him to get the girl. I want him to, you know, go to therapy and heal all those wounds in the past. And then I'd like to go for a beer. What's Zeta on his dragon? No, because I want to get dizzy. I got emotional sickness. That's true. We can even write a rule of ghost. That's not going to happen. It's okay. I'll go on the ride with Zeta on the dragon. We'll see if I can back. Okay. So, wait, because you're going to run away. Yes. Okay. So, basically, this chapter is, she's going up the gauntlet. So, we have a lot of moments here where she's, you know, doing this, doing that, reciting her book to just keep her focused, which I think is so cool. It's like a prayer for her. Yeah. You know? Yeah, that's true. Yeah. I mean, it's like her safe place. So, yeah. Yeah, that's what I'm describing. Whatever madness gets you through through your hard moments, I guess. She does get hurt along the way, right? There's, she is, she has a weaker body and she does have, it's more easier for her to joins to pop off or to, you know, get rolled or do all these different things. And although she has quite a lot of pain, she still manages it. And she goes up that chimney. She figures out a way to do it. And at the very top, she does. She pulls up this knife. She basically just runs to this ramp, which is supposed to mimic actually getting onto your dragon. So, I don't know how it's going to go with the real dragon, right? At this point, you're probably like, I don't know how that's going real life. But for right now, you got up and Amber. So, it's Amber Mavis, who actually Dane mentioned, he kind of like mentioned that he had had a relationship with her in some sort of way earlier in the book. And that's when, you know, violence, like no wonder they like each other. They're both such rule followers. Yeah. So, what were your thoughts here when, you know, she's saying cheating, cheating. What did you think? Yeah, that's actually a pretty cool scene, right? Because like, I knew that Amber was like spilling out, you're talking about all this shit about the codecs or whatever. Yeah, yeah. And I knew that Vi was going to have like an answer. I know she was going to have like a counterpoint to everything that Amber was going to say. And, Do you remember what it was? Like, yeah, it was something about how like the dagger becomes a part of you. So, so, you know, that's technically, anything you walk it, anything you walk the parropit with. Exactly, right? Yeah, it's a part of your person, right? And that's what you, yeah. So, so it's not an eagle. It's not a foreign object. So, are you like, yes, go violent? No, I was like, fuck yes, my like, do this. And she's like, well, it was meant to be sort of a little steel shit, like it doesn't fucking matter. Yeah. Right. Like, the words are the words. I was written. I want to read the codecs. Like, go. And the neat thing here is, you know, Zainan's kind of just waiting for her to answer that. He actually doesn't give up that answer for her. He's not like, no, she's fine because of this or this. She gets to defend herself. And then he just kind of like, looks proud because he believes in her, right? He has confidence that she's able to speak up for herself. And yeah. On like, dang. How many times we have count how many times we say Dain on an episode? Way too many. With like a sigh. With like, yeah, disappointment. So, we get the chapter 12 and we start the chapter. You highlighted the section here above the chapter. That's all about dragons. And I love these little bits that are on top of the chapters because it's all about the little pieces. And here you highlighted, never look a red, you know, dragon in the eye, never back down from a green. If you show a trepidation to a brown, well, just don't. So, we know we're going to deal with some dragons here. So, it's presentation day. And tell me what your thoughts are before we even get to see the dragons, there's some time when they're preparing. How do you feel people are feeling in that moment? I mean, just think about it. They probably feel like like the new universe contestants feel before they go out on stage. It's like, all the eyes are nuts. We got to show personality and good looks. And how does this dress look on me? Right? It's probably the same shit. Yeah, they got to walk in a single file. They got to be like, this is from each other. But they don't have to walk in heels. Yeah, that's true. So, one would argue that Miss Universe is harder. Well, Miss Universe did not have to climb the pair apart to get to that, you know, that thing. And it probably had to climb the other thing. I was going to say that, but I did it. I swear to God. I was going to say that, but I was like, you're rubbing off on me. Not appropriate. I will not say that. Oh, I didn't mean it like that. What did you mean? I just meant like they probably had to do other exercises. Oh, that is not what I meant. Oh, that's bad. I don't know what is not. I meant it at all. No, excuse me. Oh, okay. Oh, that's funny. Okay. Well, anyways, chapter 12, chapter 12 is presentation day. So they're gathering and shit. They're ready to walk in lines. Yeah. And they were like, Oh, make sure you talk to each other. Yeah, I thought that was neat. So, at this point, we don't know anything about the dragon. So I didn't really know like what they understand every word you're saying. And I mean, now we know that they can. But yeah, you're supposed to talk, just normally kind of be casual be yourself just so that they can get a good feel of who you are as a person. Yeah. And we have some more bullying happen in here, right? So as we get into the line and we're starting to get into the line, we have a little bit more because you get put in position. So we have Luca, who is, I don't know if we've really seen her very much before.
